Yatoo Nature Art Biennale 2014 South Korea
Geumgang Nature Art Biennale is an international nature art exhibition launched in 2004 by the Korea Nature Art Association and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This international event is held in South Chungcheong Province and Gongju City.
During the three-week event, artists from around the world live together as a community and create their works at the exhibition site. Introductory sessions for nature art projects, international nature art seminars, and other programs are held simultaneously. There are a number of programs to introduce Korean culture to international artists and visitors, and the “patchwork for nature and peace” (created by local students and citizens) is on display.
Installations are permanently set up outdoors at Mt. Yeonmisan Nature Park to allow visitors to see the effects of time and weather on the artwork. During the 'pre-Biennale' period, idea sketches and objects created with natural objects sent from around the world are on “traveling display,” with the pieces being shown in different cities throughout Korea. All works on display are used to select the participants of the next Biennale.
The organizing committee of Geumgang Nature Art Biennale accepts work from artists throughout the year and is currently seeking interested art critics, event coordinators, and artists.
